VIDEO PRESENTATION

Plastic materials such as plastics for soil mulching, plastic seedling trays and bags have become a serious problem in terms of biodegradation. According to an estimate, it takes 10 to 20 years for plastics to degrade. Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled, 12% is incinerated, and the remaining 79% end up in landfills and oceans (Condor Ferries, 2021). Plastic pollution affects the soil as it breaks down due to its ability to carry other contaminants from used polyethylene seedling bags than can impact its chemical composition and functions. This motivates the researchers to produce an organic paper seedling tray made from saba (musa acuminata x musa balbisiana) banana fiber and sawdust with the application of bamboo based activated carbon, this developed tray would serve as a seed starting container. And with that, the video indicated contains an overview of the study and how the procedures were conducted.
